Real Rhymes from the only place they can and will always truly come from!
Born in Gainesville Florida, Tarrence Watts did not live a life focused on music. While many in his family were musically gifted, at a young age, Bossami instead turned towards violence and crime. In fact, Tarrence was expelled from the Alachua County Public School system in sixth grade when after numerous fights with fellow students, he struck both a fellow student and his teacher with a classroom desk. It would be four years before Tarrence was allowed back into school. It was during this time that his cousin Calvin “Kt da G” Williams, first gave him a set of words and told him, “If you can make these words rhyme you can rap.” The importance of this moment would not be realized for many years but were the planting of a seed of inspiration that would eventually come to bear fruit.
In 1997, Tarrence entered Eastside high school and immediately began conducting illegal gun sales with his fellow students on campus. After nearly two years in business, he was caught with 5 pistols in his book bag and expelled. Later that year, he moved into a neighborhood known as Sugarfoot where he became known for his nightly robbing of local drug dealers, fiends, etc. After a couple of years in Sugerfoot, he moved into a home in Sugarhill where he continued robbing locals culmininating in his arrest in 2002. In 2003, T would have his first child a boy named Devonte, a year later he would have his second boy Marquis. In 2004, while on probation Tarrence went on the lamb for nearly a year before being caught at the home of his baby mother in the presence of both of his sons and a young child he considered his own, Denise Jackson the mother's daughter from an prior relationship. While in this instance Tarrence's love of family led him back to jail, family would remain a major motivation for change in his life.
It is during this time that Tarrence was beginning to be surrounded by people who were involved in the Gainesville rap scene and he began considering music as a viable means of supporting his family in the future. Having never given up on the rhyming tasks given to him by his cousin, Tarrence now called Dirty Boss Dawg began to work under the tutelage of Kt, honing his skills as a lyricist. It was not long after that Bloodline was formed; this was a group of singers and rappers that were connected to the bloodline of Tarrence's Grandfather Frank Williams. Members of Bloodline came together to recorded numerous tracks but never managed to complete an entire album due to many members facing recurring legal and personal issues, yet this close-nit group of family entertainers remained connected through all of the ups and downs and continues to preform together.
Tarrence's own legal issues would persist until 2010, during these years he fathering four more children. Yet, between 2004 and 2010 Tarrence also recorded as often as possible and accumulated a number of locally known tracks. Most notably, during a four month span of 2010, Tarrence now rapping under the name Bossami, released tracks weekly and at times daily, freestyling over some of your favorite beats and releasing them for free to his growing fan base on Reverb Nation, culminating in an extensive catalog. These tracks were not professionally recorded but displayed a quickly flourishing talent. Sadly, this progress was again slowed due to continuing legal issues.
Finally home and ready to focus exclusively on his music career, Bossami has hooked back up with his Bloodline fam, enlisting the aid of business partner and mentor Andre “Dre” Williams, Kt da G, and other family members to allow him to focus exclusively on the production and marketing of his music. Bossami is in the process of compiling and completing his first mixtape entitled Frank Williams, and is currently recording tracks for both another mixtape entitled SniperShot and his yet to be titled solo album. Bossami says to expect the Frank Williams mixtape in the Spring of 2013 and SniperShot Vol.1 will hit the streets this summer. After that Bossami says he “Plans on entering the rap game as a free agent with interest of signing to a major record label”. Bossami will also be featured on an upcoming comedy album by Cliff Patrick and can be found on a number of tracks on Kt da G's soon to be released mixtape. Bossami and a number of Bloodline members will be showcased throughout Florida and the East Coast over the next year working with the entertainment company Destiny Infinity Ent. When asked about the future of his music Bossami said, “2013 is the year for me and my fam...”
It is clear to anyone who listens that Bossami brings an immense amount of energy and emotion to his music but most of all there is a sense of reality to his rap that reaches the multitudes who continue to struggle through hardships but kept their heads up searching for that guiding light leading them to a brighter tomorrow. According to Bossami, “all of the pieces of the puzzle are finally coming together perfectly...it's only a matter of time now.” So sit back, turn up Bossami, and allow him to take you on a journey; from the lows of real life in the projects to the living it up in the V.I.P. and everywhere in between.
